Turn Thumbtack lead emails into a spreadsheet
Every Thumbtack lead arrives as an email with the customer, the job and when they want it. MailQL turns each one into a row, so you can see every lead in one list, sort by date wanted, and count how many came in this month.
Free for 25 emails a month.
What each email becomes
| Source | Name | Phone | Job | Location | Wanted by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thumbtack | Jane Doe | (850) 555-0123 | Roof repair | Apalachicola, FL 32320 | Oct 20, 2026 |
All the columns: Source, Name, Phone, Email, Job, Location, Wanted by, Details. You can rename, add or remove any of them.
Set it up in two minutes
- Make a mailbox in MailQL and pick Home-service leads. You get an address like
leads-k7f3qd@in.mailql.com. - In Gmail, open Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP and add that address. Confirm it with the code MailQL shows you.
- Search Gmail for
from:(thumbtack.com) subject:(lead OR request), choose Create filter, and tick Forward it to your MailQL address. - New Thumbtack lead emails turn into rows as they arrive. Forward a few old ones by hand to fill the table now.
Good to know
- Some Thumbtack leads only share a phone number or email once you reply in the app. When the email leaves it out, that column stays empty instead of being guessed.
- "Within 2 weeks" becomes a real date in the Wanted by column, counted from when the lead arrived, and is marked for you to check.
- Anything MailQL isn't sure of is highlighted for you to check, with the words from the email it came from.
- Download the table as CSV whenever you like, send each new row to a webhook (Zapier and Make included), or ask questions like "how many this month?".
